About James

After giving up a career in farming to pursue a love of photographing people, James has quickly established himself as a fresh and innovative social photographer.

As couples have moved away from the traditional wedding albums which were full of formal line ups, they have been looking for more natural and spontaneous shots which capture the true mood of the occasion. James' quiet and sensitive approach has made him very popular with those who prefer this more unobtrusive style. His wedding albums aren't just a collection of photographs taken of an event, they are a series of moments that make each wedding unique. Although he understands the need for some formal photographs he prefers to document an event without interference or influencing the images. His photos are all about emotion, he wants couples to look back and remember how they felt at that precise moment.

He also specialises in contemporary children's photography and whenever possible works on location rather than in a studio. By using outdoor locations children regard the experience as an adventure rather than an endurance.

Over the last few years James' work has featured on television, calendars, newspapers and magazines, and he has covered events for a number of major companies. He has always felt very fortunate to do a job he loves so much and this enthusiasm is evident in his work.
